Edward Rowles
Freelance Science Fiction Artist
and Web Site Designer

I'm a freelance computer graphic artist who enjoys creating science fiction art and producing multimedia for the web. Most of the time I produced commercial multimedia, animation and computer graphic art designed to inform, entertain, inspire and motivate audiences. My artwork is used for web design, corporate communications, new product introduction, business meetings, conventions, books, magazines and CD covers. My creative skills are concept, theme, graphic design, storyboards, special effects, digital photography, computer graphics, multimedia and web site design. However, I have always had the dream of becoming a science fiction illustrator.

A few years ago I decided it was time to pursue my dream and enter the world of science fiction. Everyday while other people rush off to work in the city I get to stay home and work in my studio creating computer art. It's wonderful to be able to concentrate all my efforts on the work I truly enjoy. Science Fiction Art. While working at my computer I sometimes like to imagine that one day my simple spaceship illustrations will be the inspiration that sparks a young person somewhere to become involved in space science and develop the worlds first warp drive.

I have been working with various computers creating art for over 30 years. In the 1960's I learned how to program my first computer using punch cards on an IBM as big as a house. One summer I actually worked inside a computer wiring circuit boards. In the 1980's when small personal computers became available I had to have one. I became obsessed with programing games and creating art on the Atari 400, 800, 130XE and finally the Atari 620. As each new computer became more powerful I spent more and more time improving my creative skills. Today, I have two computers. My master computer is a New Power Macintosh G4 with 3 monitors: 17 inch, 15 inch and 14 inch RGB, that's powered by 512 Megs of Ram, and a Fromac Studio Analog to DV digitizer. For backup and large over night rendering projects I use my new Special Edition iMac G3.

I am skilled in the following computer graphic programs.
