Caption: The Luna spaceship Takes-off from Lucerne Valley in the Mojave Desert and leaps into the night sky. It's destination? The Moon! The engine blasts for nearly 4 minutes, at the end of which time the rocket is at an altitude of 807 miles and has achieved a escape velocity of 32,000 feet per second. As the Luna spaceship escapes the pull of earth gravity the crew prepares for the long 870,000 mile journey to the moon.
The 1950 Rocketship Luna was re-created using Strata Studio 2.5.3 computer graphic program. The stars in the scene are made with Photoshop 5.0. and imported into into Strata as a backdrop. Created by Edward Rowles in 2000 |
