The space cruiser Red Star traveling at a cruising speed of 250,000 miles per hour. Red Star is 150 feet long with a loaded weight of 250 tons. Of this, 200 tons is "fuel": ordinary water to provide reaction mass for the atomic motor, 40 tons is the spaceship itself, and 10 tons for the four passengers a captain, science officer, communications / navigation officer, engineer and their accommodations, equipment, supplies, etc.
