Praise: Great site! The von Braun/Disney/Struhlinger images bring back memories of the Disney space exploration tv programs. The three programs were very exciting to me (a first-grader at the time). All the spacecraft in the show intrigued me. Many years later, I found a copy of von Braun's book on the exploration of Mars, and it contained-along with the fine Chesley Bonestell illustrations-several of Disney's von Braun spacecraft designs. However, one of the spacecraft from the original tv shows wasn't in the book, the parasol Mars ship. A few years ago, I found Ron Miller's "Dream Machines" at the local library. This excellent book had some drawings of this unusual atomic-electric ship. It's a pleasure to see this imaginative design in your gallery, and I'm glad to learn others were as impressed with these spacecraft as I was. A nostalgia magazine called "Outre" ran a couple articles on the Disney space exploration tv shows. Outre used a number of original Disney photos and drawings to illustrate the articles. These included a couple photos of Disney's models of the Struhlinger atomic ships. Better close. Again, this site is very enjoyable and I plan to visit again.
